The mascots of the Winter Olympic Games: Bing Dwen Dwen and Xue Rong Rong. Have you gotten one?

The Winter Olympic Games is underway in Beijing, I learned that in the Imperial garden, the Summer Palace, decorated with the winter Olympic emblems, mascots, theme slogans and other festive elements, showing a thick atmosphere of ice and snow. I pay special attention to the mascots.

What most impressive was the official release of the awarding elements of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games: Among them, Bing Dwen Dwen and Xue Rong Rong, the mascots of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Winter Games, are the prototypes.

Decorated with wreaths of pine, bamboo and plum, it is a custom-made souvenir for the winning athletes. Pine, bamboo and plum are known as the “Three friends of winter”, which has special meaning: tenacity and vigorous vitality. It expresses praise, respect and good wishes to the award-winning athletes. The shape of the wreath is made of golden PU filled cotton, giving a soft and warm feeling.

The Beijing Winter Olympics mascot Bing Dwen Dwen, a panda in an ice shell, has a profound meaning.

“Ice”, representing purity and strength, pays tribute to the Winter Olympics; “Dun Dun”, on behalf of honest, healthy, lively, lovely, fit the overall image of the panda, symbolizing the Winter Olympic athletes have a strong body, tough will and inspiring Olympic spirit.

The shape of the “Bing Dwen Dwen” head shell is taken from the ice sports helmet, decorated with colorful halo, inspired by the “Ice Ribbon”, the national Speed Skating Hall of the Beijing Winter Olympics, flowing bright color lines symbolizing the ice sports track and 5G technology.

The heart of the left palm represents our warm welcome to friends all over the world as the host country.

The overall image resembles the astronaut, meaning to create difference, explore the future, embodies the pursuit of excellence, leading the era, and the infinite possibility for the future.

According to the picture, thousands of drones were used to draw Bing Dwen Dwen and Xue Rong Rong in Guangzhou. The uav formation flight performance with the theme of “Celebrating The New Year and Welcoming the Winter Olympics” was held in Haixinsha, Guangzhou. 1,000 drones presented “aerial gifts”, forming cartoon shapes of “Bing Dwen Dwen and Xue Rong Rong”.

In the night sky, the uav first formed seven characters of “Southern Flower City to welcome the Winter Olympics”, and the snowflakes dotted around slowly turned and changed with the color, forming the kapok, the city flower of Guangzhou.

Interestingly, “Bing Dwen Dwen”, the “ice panda”, came from the Southern Flower City. Its designer team came from the 14-member team led by Cao Xue from the School of Visual Art and Design of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, hoping that the Winter Olympics could be held smoothly and give the world a different surprise.
